Lottie Louise Fehring Obituary

"Mom, it took you 97 years to leave the party."

Our loving mother, Lottie Louise Fehring (Mroczkowski), age 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Serenity Villa in Slinger Wisconsin. She was born May 24, 1927 in Bark River, Michigan.

She was born to Polish immigrants Andrew and Louise (Sowa) Mroczkowski.  Mom grew up in Bark River and graduated from Escanaba High School. She then moved to Milwaukee where she worked for Allis Chalmers and the Selective Service, where she met her future husband, Jim Fehring. They shared their first dance at the Eagles Ballroom and waltzed their way into each other's hearts.

Jim and Lottie were united in marriage in 1951. In 1954 they moved to the Fehring family farm near Cedar Creek. It was there where they created many wonderful memories raising their 6 loved children. Lottie remained at the farm until the age of 92 when she moved to Serenity Villa.

Everyone who met Mom and Dad soon learned that Dad was the life of the party and Mom always wanted to be the last to leave. Mom loved spending time with her family and friends and "The Farm" was a favorite place for everyone to gather.  She loved having visitors, cooking impromptu meals and often shared Jim's homemade wine with her guests.

Throughout her life Mom was always welcoming and kind, spreading joy to everyone she met. Even as she struggled with dementia, she was nothing but kind and polite to everyone around her.

Mom's hobbies included bowling, golfing, traveling, and she "loved" dining out. She was also a bit of a gambler and enjoyed playing cards, an occasional casino trip and going to play bingo with her buddy Jean.

Mom was loved and cherished by her children and grandchildren:

Katherine Fehring: Children Corey, Ryan and Joshua

Rita Neuman (John): Children Jesse and Gina

Jon Fehring: Children Jenise, Noelle, Adam and Rory

Jay Fehring (Kara): Children Jacob, Lucas and Brenna

Julie Kastello (Jeff): Children Jordan and Zachary

Mom was also blessed with many loving great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters in law Dolores Fehring, Marlene Fehring and many other family members.

Mom was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Jim, her parents Andrew and Louise Mroczkowski, daughter Kristine Fehring, grandson Andrew Chitwood, brothers Chester Mroczkowski (Mary), Carl Mroczkowski (Grace) and by many relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Father Rick Stoffel and Lisa Schmitt from Saint Peter Catholic Church where Lottie was a lifelong member. Their blessings, care and compassion are greatly appreciated. We are also grateful to Jill, Marcia (NP), and the entire staff of Serenity Villa where Mom spent the last 5 years. A special thanks to Owen, for loving Lottie and giving her an occasional "nightcap".  A special shout out to Lori for the fun activities, outings and "happy hour" that Mom so enjoyed.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 28 at St. Peter Parish, Slinger.  Visitation will begin at 3:00pm until 4:45pm followed by Mass at 5:00pm. Interment will take place privately with the family.
