Loretta Josephine Meyer (nee Heimerl)
Was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. Loretta was born in Sheboygan, WI, on April 28, 1940, to Sylvester and Lydia (nee Schneider) Heimerl.
Loretta grew up on the family farm in Little Kohler, she was the oldest of 13 children. Loretta attended Little Kohler's one room school house for grades 1-8 and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1958. Shortly after graduation she married Gilbert "Gilly" J. Meyer Jr. on July 19th, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Kohler. The couple resided in Port Washington until 1960 and moved to Fillmore to begin farming together. For the first 15 years of farming, Loretta did the milking/calves/chores while Gilly worked 2

shift at Gehl company. Loretta was an excellent homemaker raising their eight children. For many years, she had a large garden and did a lot of canning to support her family. She loved flowers and baking, especially homemade bread, schneckens and desserts. As her children grew and were married, family meant the world to her. She would host many holidays, birthdays and Sunday dinners. Other hobbies included attending polka dances, church festivals and volunteering at church. On April 13

2013, Gilly passed away, for 10 years she deeply missed him but the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with great joy. She especially enjoyed taking day trips with her daughters and granddaughter to Holy Hill, Our Lady of Champion and the women of Christ Conference. In the last years of her life, she became a prayer warrior and a regular listener to

. She shared her faith by living a life of joy rooted in Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.
Loretta is survived by her children, Debra R. (Mark) Ramel of Random Lake, Susan (Roy) Carter of Newburg, Michael Meyer of Fillmore, John (Debra) Meyer of Fredonia, Margaret (Kenneth) Schroeter of Grafton, Gilbert "Buddy" Meyer III of Fillmore, Maria (Robert) Myers of West Bend, Peter (fiancé Karen Neimuth) Meyer of Grafton;
13 grandchildren, Steven Ramel, Jessica (Steven) Batterman, Matthew (Jessica) Ramel, Jason (Stephanie) Carter, Daniel (Elizabeth) Carter, Dennis & Christopher Carter, Leona Meyer, Emily (Michael) Stockhausen, Nathan (fiancé Savannah Hunter) Myers, Timothy (Sean) Myers and Andrew Myers.
8 great-grandchildren, August Batterman, baby Batterman due March 2024, Mary, Rebekah and River Ramel, Nolan and Kaden Carter, and Krue Carter.
She is further survived by her sister-in-law Mary Ann Meyer of Manitowac, Carol Meyer of Fredonia, brother-in-law Eugene Meyer of Port Washington. Siblings; Frank (Gay) Heimerl of Newburg, Robert (Sandi) Heimerl of Brentwood, Marilyn Habersetzer of West Bend, Leonard (Judy) Heimerl of West Bend, Alfred (Lenae) Heimerl of Random Lake, Jeanette (Kenneth) Mueller of Theresa, Jerome Heimerl of Random Lake, Roman Heimerl of Fredonia, Janice (Special friend Doug King) Heimerl of Fredonia, and Bernie (Diane) Heimerl of Fredonia.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
Sylvester and Lydia;
mother and father-in-law Gilbert Sr. and Rose;
her husband, Gilbert "Gilly" Jr.; grandson Brian Ramel; brother-in-law, Joseph, Theodore, George (Martha), and Leonard Meyer; sister-in-law Mary Meyer. She was further preceded in death by brother-in-law, Joseph Habersetzer, infant brother, Jerome and infant sister, Mary.
The visitation will be held on Friday, September 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend) with a Rosary Prayer Service at 8:00 PM. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30th from 10:00AM-11:45AM at Holy Trinity Church (521 Congress Drive, West Bend, WI 53090). The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 PM Father Tom DeVries will be the celebrant. Interment will follow immediately after mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Kohler (W4790 County Road H, Fredonia, WI 53021).
