Loretta "Jane" Harmon (nee Petitte), of West Bend, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at home with her loving family by her side. Jane was born on Jan. 16, 1944, in Corpus Christi, TX to John and Alyce (nee Kramer) Petitte. While Jane's father was in the US Navy, Alyce brought her back to the "Copper Country" in the U.P. in Michigan where she and her siblings were raised.
Jane was a 1962 graduate of Ishpeming High School in Ishpeming, MI. After graduation, she boarded a bus for West Bend, WI where she lived with family friends. On Dec. 28, 1963, Jane was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clarence "Lee" Harmon and they began their family. Throughout her lifetime, Jane worked for several local businesses all while raising their children. She also worked at Amity Leather Products and retired while holding a position at the Washington County Register of Deeds office.
Jane was a devoted and loving wife and mother who cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an awesome cook, led a life of example, had a voice of reason, gave the best advice, was compassionate and forgiving, enjoyed crocheting & knitting, was an amazing pianist, loved to sing gospel songs with Lee, and most importantly knew the Lord as her personal Savior. The list goes on ……
Jane is survived by her husband, Lee, of almost 55 years; their children: Rick (Wendy) Harmon, David (Andrea) Harmon and Lori (Tom) Hughes; grandchildren: Tory Harmon, Morgan (Steven) Kluck, Whitney Harmon, Katelyn (Jeff) Schall, Joe Harmon, Trystan Hughes (special friend Ryan Rausch), Cody Hughes and Ashlyn Hughes; great-grandchildren: Elinor, Moses, Wolfgang & Rufio Kluck and Kendall Schall. She is further survived by her siblings: Barbara Harmon, Jack (Rose) Petitte, Joan (Joe) Brath, Ilona Justinger, Arlene (Larry) Dilley, Arnie Anderson, Jr, Peter (Carol) Anderson and Byron (Angie) Anderson; her siblings-in-law: Ron (Andrea) Harmon, Jim (Nancy) Harmon, Nancy (Bob) Stratton, Tom (Barb) Harmon, Edith (Don) Treu, Judy (Howard) Hanson, Jerry (Allison) Harmon, Nancy Tralmer, MaryAnn (Mark) Hilyard, Julie (Terry) Sgrignoli, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents: John & Alyce; parents-in-law: Frank & Caroline Harmon; brothers-in-law: Jack Harmon, Dennis Harmon, and Dick Harmon; nieces: Lisa Haas and Wendy Harmon; nephew: Chad Tralmer; and step-fathers: Arnie Anderson, Sr and Otto Nelson.
While Jane will be greatly missed by her family, her pain is now gone, all her worries have faded away and she has been welcomed home by her heavenly Father.
A Memorial Service for Jane will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Emmaus Bible Church (220 N 6th Ave, West Bend, WI) with Pastor Ron Risse officiating. Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank the West Bend Fire & Rescue and the West Bend Police Departments for their service, the Emmaus Bible Church and Pastor Glenn Butts from The Church of the Nazarene for their support during the family's time of need.
