Obituary
Lillian Cecilia Erna Hollmann (nee Backhaus) of West Bend, WI passed away peacefully at Ivy Manor on Monday, June 16
th
, 2025 at the age of 93.
Lillian was born on August 25, 1931 in Kewaskum, WI to Ben and Louisa (nee Nienow) Backhaus. She was baptized on September 13, 1931 by Pastor Kneiss of St. Lucas Lutheran Church. She attended grade school, was confirmed, and later married at David's Star Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jackson (Kirchhayn), WI. Lillian attended high school in Cedarburg, graduating in the class of 1949. On October 10, 1953, Lillian was married to Harvey Hollmann, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Lillian was employed at Kieckhoefers in Cedarburg, Gehl MFG in West Bend, Sprague Electric in Grafton, WLCFS in Milwaukee, and the Washington County Offices in West Bend.
Lillian is survived by her children, David (Jean), Carol (Mark) Wolfgram, and Cindy (Dan) Rennicke; grandchildren, Mark (Kristin) Wolfgram, Crystal (Adam) Diels, Elizabeth (Jovan) Arezina, Michael (Erin) Hollmann, and Jacob Rennicke; great grandchildren, Lexi, Adam, Charlotte, Logan, Madeline, Vladimir, Annabelle, Katerina, and Elaina. She is further survived by her brother Gordon (Ann) Gilbert; nieces Kathleen (Dave) Hafemeister, their children Alayna and Ethan, and Kelly (Andy) Foster.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey, daughter Debbie Wendt, son Gary, sisters Irene Kison and Lucille Schubert, and her loving godparents Paul and Erna Gilbert. A special thank you to Emily and the whole staff at Ivy Manor, and Casey and Courtney of Lily Hospice. Your care for our mom was outstanding.
Funeral services will be held at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church (2740 David's Star Dr., Jackson WI, 53037) on Friday, June 20 th , 2025. Visitation will be from 2:30 PM to 4:15 PM with service at 4:30 PM. Burial will follow the service at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery.
