Leonard J. Demerath Jr., age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 3, 2019. He was born on October 28, 1929 in Milwaukee to Leonard J. Sr. and Emma (nee Ruthenberg) Demerath. Leonard married Hattie Ann Walders on August 15,1959 in Milwaukee at the Church of Incarnation. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.


Leonard is survived by his children; Lisa (Jeff) Szukalski, Denise Palick, Jeffrey (Beverly) Demerath, grandchildren; Heather, Sarah, Bryan (Rita), Chaz, Jasmine, Dominic, Tierney (David) and Morgan, great-grandchildren; Skylar, Caleb, Jax, Charles, Vincent and Oliver. He is further survived by sisters-in-law; Beverly Rapelje, Carole Esser and Mary Sue Demerath, son-in-law Chris Dolan, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Hattie, daughter Michelle Dolan and 4 siblings.

Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving but he especially loved to spend time with his family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday April 15th at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr.) with Deacon Mike Koebel presiding. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm. Military Honors will follow the service.
