LaVerne Schnabel "Shorty", age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014. He was born on November 23, 1926 in Winner, South Dakota to Adolph and Anna (nee Fischer) Schnabel. Shorty was raised in Tripp, South Dakota. He married Eileen and had three sons. Shorty loved to hunt, fish and go four wheeling. Former owner of Shorty's Artistic Roller Rink.

Shorty is survived by his children Glen (Vicky), Patrick 'Peter' (Tracy Gutjahr) and Scott (Marilyn Harvot); grandchildren Andrea, Glen Jr., Sarah, Nicole and Stephanie and great-grandchildren. Shorty is further survived by in-laws; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eileen; brothers Eddie, Melvin and Rueben.

A Funeral Service will be held at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church (462 Meadowbrook Dr., West Bend) Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 6pm. A visitation for Shorty will be at the CHURCH ONLY on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 4pm until the time of service at 6pm. Interment will take place Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10am at Washington County Memorial Park.
