La Verne Elizabeth Genevive (Spaeth) Doll
La Verne was born April 16, 1932 in the town of Farmington, to Sebastian and Clara (Schladweiler) Spaeth. She attended St. Michael's Grade School and graduated from Kewaskum High School, the Class of 1950. After high school she worked at the West Bend Mutual Insurance Company. On September 4, 1954 she married Alois Doll, at St. Michael's Church. La Verne became a stay-at-home mom when her first child was born.
She was 4-H leader with the Badger Boosters club, taught quilting and drape making at Moraine Park Technical College, Julie Ann Fabrics and the Common Thread Quilt Shops. Also was a charter member of Kettle Moraine Quilt Club, Ties That Bind Quilt Guild. LaVerne volunteered and led a weekly quilting group at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
La Verne enjoyed sewing clothes for family, doing alterations, and making quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LaVerne is well-known for her beautiful quilts and quilted decorations. In addition to sewing and quilting, she enjoyed sudoku, word searches and reading. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
La Verne is survived by her children: Donna (Gerald) Yogerst, Karen Doll and Steven (Nadya) Doll. Also survived by her grandchildren: Nicholas (Anya) Yogerst Lucas (Sarah) Yogerst, Chimwemwe Manda, Elizabeth Manda, Lauryn Manda, Ndeketaya Manda, and Jacob Doll and Irina Demeneva. Survived by great-grandchildren: Chase, Zoey, and Henry Yogerst. Further survived by her sister-in-law Eilleen (Doll) Stange.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alois, and her parents- in-laws, Arthur and Olive Doll. Preceded also by her siblings: Dolores (Harold) Gundrum, Evelyn (Carl) Vogel, and Roger (Joyce) Spaeth and her siblings-in-law Dorothy (Roland) Beine, Donald (Marilyn) Doll, Rosemary (Irvin) Beistle, LeRoy (Helen) Doll, Gerald Doll, Charles Doll, and her nephew Roger Gundrum.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 11:00AM until 1:45PM, with a Prayer Service at 2:00PM, at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, instruction to giving to "Ties that Bind Quilt Guild", will be at the celebration of her life.
