Kenneth Blaine "Ken" went to the safe arms of his loving Savior on October 8, 2024, at the age of 76. Ken was together with family and his cherished wife when he crossed the finish line of his final victory lap.
Ken was born to the late Edward and Dorothy Blaine on February 28, 1948. He was drafted into the US Army 1968 and subsequently honorably discharged.
Ken married Susan Yenter on October 8, 1988, and celebrated 36 blessed years together. Her prayer for Ken was answered on July 25, 2021, when he was baptized at Good Shepherd EV Lutheran Church, West Bend and he was assured through scripture that "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved." Mark 16:16
Ken's life was rich with blessings. He worked side-by-side with his dad, Ed Blaine, in landscaping, asphalt, and scrapping cars. In 1972 they started Blaine's Auto and Truck Parts in Slinger and continued the operation of the business with his stepson Eric until it was sold in 2023. He had a successful racing career driving the Rock N' Roll #89 EWSCA modified sprint car, and he played lead guitar and sang in the country band Lode Star which opened for top name country recording artists. His favorite hobby was hunting the elusive white tail deer in the 40 acres behind his house and in Saskatchewan, Canada. Ken also loved playing poker and played in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and holds the only 4-time champion title in the annual local poker tournament.
In addition to his wife Sue, Ken is survived by his stepsons Eric (Jennifer) and Adam (Denise) Retzlaff. Also, his 8 loving grandchildren; Dylan Figueroa (special friend Amber), KJ Blaine, Alexis Eubanks (special friend Eddy), Kileigh Blaine (special friend Nate), Luke (special friend Bekah), Brian, Joel and Libby Retzlaff. Further survived by siblings Nicole Mouradian and Edward Blaine (Stacey), brothers-in-law Jeff and Nick (Renee) Yenter, nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives including dear friends Chris & Laura Simko. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Helen Yenter, and his hunting buddies Jim Ward and Tommy Siewert.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2:30PM until 5:15PM, with the Funeral Service at 5:30PM, at Good Shepherd EV Lutheran Church, 777 S. Indiana Ave., West Bend.
