Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" Vera (Schall) Schneider of West Bend entered into eternal life on October 18th, 2025, at age 81, while surrounded by her family at Kathy Hospice. Kathy was born on March 27th, 1944, to Leroy and Viola (Kurtz) Schall in Hartford, WI. She grew up with six siblings and graduated from Slinger High School in 1962. Shortly after, she began working at Amity Leather, where she met the love of her life, Daniel "Dan" Schneider, while working in the mail room. They married at St. Frances Cabrini Church in West Bend on May 21st, 1966. In 1967, they welcomed their first child, Tammy Darlene; Timothy Daniel and Todd Larry followed in 1970 and 1971. Kathy was an active volunteer, serving as a Sunday school teacher, high school CCD teacher, and helping at St. Frances Cabrini Church & School. Her unwavering faith guided her life, and she devoted countless hours to participating in Bible studies, praying, and helping others. In 1997, Kathy was thrilled to become a grandma on her 53rd birthday to Rebecca Kathleen. Her family continued to grow with the births of Elizabeth Eileen and Amber Margaret in 1999, and her first grandson, Ethan Charles, in 2012. Many summers were spent in the garden, where she delighted in canning vegetables and making applesauce and jam to share with others. Kathy continued to volunteer at St. Frances Cabrini and the West Bend Food Pantry. After Dan retired, they delivered Meals on Wheels throughout the week. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing card games, sharing meals, and creating memories together. Kathy's life was surrounded by family, friends, and her faith. She is remembered with those who went before her, including her parents Leroy and Viola (Kurtz) Schall, her in-laws Charles & Marie (Greulich) Schneider, brother David Schall, brother-in-law Douglas Schneider, sisters-in-law Paulette (Gruel) Schneider, Barbara (Flasch) Schneider, Barbara (Koehn) Schneider, and Lois (Schroeder) Schneider, niece Heather Schneider, and godson Mark Schall. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Dan Schneider; her children Tammy (Corey) Graven, Timothy Schneider with his partner Karyn Espen, Todd (Wendy) Schneider; grandchildren Rebecca (David) Marolla, Elizabeth (David) Schmid, Amber Schneider with her partner Alex Miller, Ethan Schneider, and a future great-grandchild due in January. She is also survived by her siblings Richard Schall, Elaine Burg, Larry (Lynn) Schall, Ivan (Melinda) Schall, Diana Jensen, and her siblings-in-law Pam Schall, Donald Schneider, Gary (Karen) Schneider, Darlene (Jon) Fueger, Charlyn (Bill) Gaedke, Tom Schneider, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and their families. Before her passing, Kathy expressed her gratitude for the support and love from her family. A special thanks to her healthcare team as well, including Dr. Mooney, Dr. Kurre, Brenda Rodefer, the nurses at the Froedtert West Bend Cancer Center, and the nurses at Kathy Hospice. Visitation will begin at 10:30am on Saturday, November 22nd at St. Frances Cabrini Church. A memorial service will begin at noon with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Meals on Wheels of Washington County, the West Bend Food Pantry, or St. Frances Cabrini Church. Kathy's life was defined by love, faith, and generosity. Her kindness and devotion to family touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will live on in our hearts.
