Obituary

Jozines "Bill" William Cording, of Germantown, formerly of Newburg, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at the age of 78.
Bill was born on April 22, 1948, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Ema and Jozines B. Cording. At an early age, his family moved to Milwaukee, where he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966. Following graduation, Bill proudly served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

On August 7, 1976, Bill married the love of his life, Ann Dierstein. Together they built a wonderful life, raising their family and spending 40 years in Newburg, where Bill became a dedicated member of the community.

Bill worked at Continental Can Company for 28 years until its closure. He later earned an associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology from Milwaukee Area Technical College and went on to serve the Village of Newburg as both Trustee and Village Administrator for 23 years.
After leaving Newburg, Bill and Ann moved to West Bend. Following Ann's passing, Bill relocated to The Gables Assisted Living in Germantown to be closer to his family.

Bill found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved woodworking, golfing, baking homemade bread, spending time outdoors, watching birds, and doting on his dogs. He never turned down something sweet, but nothing brought him more happiness than time with his family. He especially cherished watching his three grandsons play baseball and spending time with his granddogs, Max and Kenny.
Bill is lovingly survived by his children, Emily (Jeff Langley) of Menomonee Falls and Brad (Katie) Cording of New Berlin; his grandsons, Benjamin, Joseph, and Jacob Cording; siblings Cathy (Mike) Rapp and Chuck (Jan) Cording; sisters-in-law Linda Dierstein of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mari (Steve) Adwell of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Cording; his parents, Ema and Jozines B. Cording; his parents-in-law, Dorothy and George Dierstein; and his brother-in-law, Jim Dierstein.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Preceptor Hospice and to the staff at The Gables Assisted Living, especially Sam and Raquel, for the kindness, friendship, and exceptional care they provided.

A private family service will be held, and Bill will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill's life on Sunday, July 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bobby's Bar, 14735 W. Lisbon Road, Brookfield.
Bill's quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Humane Society in Bill's memory.
