Joyce R. Maahs
(nee Leopold)
Joyce R Maahs was welcomed to her heavenly home and the arms of her Savior on Saturday January 20, 2024, with her daughters at her side, at the age of 85. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Howard and Irene Leopold. Joyce married Leon "Lee" O. Maahs on February 8, 1958. She was a longtime member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Joyce enjoyed trips to Door County with her daughters, special outings with their police family and a nice glass of Chardonnay. Joyce especially enjoyed any activities involving her six grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Joyce is survived by her children Lori Aschauer, Tim, Traci (Jay) Borns; grandchildren Megan, Molly, Matthew, Collin (Julie), Rebekah, and Cameron (Jordan Medendorp); other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Leon, sister Karen (Kent) Allison, and Son-in-law Raymond Aschauer.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 12:00PM until 1:45PM, with a 2:00PM Memorial Service, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 6869 Wildwood Rd. West Bend WI 53090, with Pastor Darren Knoll and Pastor Clark Schultz presiding. Joyce's strong faith was her guiding principle in life. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (please see address above) and/or Time of Grace, P.O. Box 301 Milwaukee, WI 53201.
