Joyce Ada Fralick (nee Zellner), age 80, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at her residence after a strongly fought battle with lung cancer. She was born on February 24, 1934, in Milwaukee to the late Michael and Ruth Zellner. Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Carl H. Fralick II, on October 16, 1958. Together they moved to West Bend and resided on Little Cedar Lake, a place she dearly loved. Clayton preceded her in death on November 15, 1970.
Joyce was a very strong minded, stubborn woman. She continued to live at Little Cedar Lake and raised her five children alone. After the kids were all in school, she went to work first at Lee Schmidt's Supper Club part time and then later full time at Fleet Farm in West Bend. Joyce was fondly known as the Candy Lady at the Fleet Farm. She eventually moved into the city of West Bend.
Joyce loved to garden, spend time out on the lake or swim, and to read, but mostly she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children Mark (Patti) Fralick, Kathleen Fralick, Timothy Fralick and Christine (Mark) Theodor; grandchildren David (Kristy) Frasher, Jack Fralick, Sam Fralick, Micah Theodor, Devin Theodor and Alec Theodor; great-granddaughter Alayna Frasher; sister-in-law Nola Zellner; nieces Dawn (John) Hadden and Tammy Zellner; nephew Michael Zellner; very special friends, people who were always there for her, Diane and Michael Beck and Cynthia (Angel) Rosbeck; and her canine rock, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Ruth Zellner, husband Clayton Fralick, beloved son David Fralick and brother Kenneth Zellner.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin, most especially Dr. Smale, Dr. Wolter, Dr. Robbins, your wonderful nurses and Serenity Hospice for really going the extra mile for our mother.
Private services were held.
