Joseph Anthony Gayan was born on April 23

, 2025. He was the son of Joseph W. Gayan and Eleanor E. (Shefka).
On August 12, 1972, he married Kristine G. (Gauger). They have four children, Joseph P. (Amber) Sun Prairie WI, Michael J. (Jennifer) Las Vegas NV, Caroline L. Kindt, Marietta GA, and Zachary T. (Sadie). Neenah, WI. With 16 grandchildren, Jaydon, Micah, Kienna, Noah, and Jace Hale. Joey E. Gayan, Grant, Kate, Henry, and Hanna Gayan, Sawyer, Hunter, Reed, and Sadie Kindt, Harper and Clark Gayan and one great-grandchild, Kalani Hale. He also has a stepsister, Mingyon (David) Townsend of Kewaunee, WI.
Joe attended Holy Angels school for three years and then transferred to the Kewaskum school district. He graduated from Kewaskum high school in 1970. During his senior year he worked part-time at Kasten Manufacturing in Allenton and following graduation he started full-time at the West Bend Company where he met Kris. He was employed there for 32 years.
Joe loved fishing and tried for many years to hook a new world record musky from the Chippewa Flowage. He enjoyed going to gun shows to sell accessories and make new friends. And lastly, loved target shooting with his boys.
He loved his family, his church, his country, and John Wayne. He also was a proud Lifetime Member of the NRA.
Later in life he started developing several health issues which required numerous hospital and rehab stays. Even though he was in a wheelchair, he and his entire family drove to Yellowstone National Park and stayed in a beautiful house to celebrate Kris and his 50
th
wedding anniversary. His final two months were spent at home under hospice care.
He passed away peacefully in bed with his wife by his side.
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (120 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Bishop Aaron Roemer presiding. Visitation will be at church on Saturday, May 31
st
from 9:00am until 9:45am. Interment will follow the service at Washington County Memorial Park.
