Jodeen “Jodi” Ann Treutel Casetta was called home in hospice care in Trenton, WI, on August 14 after a 2½‑year ovarian cancer battle fought with positivity, love, and faith—none of which ever wavered.
Born in Wisconsin Rapids and raised in West Bend, Jodi was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Violet Treutel and was a graduate of Holy Angels School and West Bend East High School. In 1998, she married Curtis Casetta—thanks to some divinely inspired meddling from their mothers. Together they found joy every day. Soon after marriage, they moved to West Bend.
Jodi was an educator—at schools in Milwaukee, Port Washington, Mequon, West Bend, and Kewaskum. Her greatest impact came where she could share her deep faith, especially as principal at Milwaukee’s Our Lady of Good Hope and Kewaskum’s Holy Trinity, where she found great joy.
Jodi was a learner—earning advanced degrees, being a trained pianist, opening “Academic Edge” tutoring. In retirement she became an H&R Block tax analyst and later a certified cook (#1 in her class). Her love of cooking led to volunteering at Winterspring Farm, an organic CSA, where she laughed with her farm friends even while enduring cancer treatments.
She also enjoyed family, reading, and summers at their cabin in Springstead.
Jodi and Curt’s adventures included a weeklong culinary boot camp, casino trips with Curt’s mom, and celebrating their 25th anniversary in Casetta, Italy.
She’ll be remembered for her laugh, unconditional love, passion, intelligence, and adventurous cooking, and by the many students, teachers, family, and friends she inspired.
Jodi is predeceased by her parents, her goddaughter and niece Laura Breuer David, and great-nephews James and Apollo Jurss. She is survived by her husband, Curtis; brother Steven; sisters Kathryn (Roger) Breuer, Lisa Zeit, Sheila (Christopher) Jurss, and Jeannette (Ronald) Spieth; mother‑in‑law Joan (the late Leroy) Casetta; sister‑in‑law Cynthia (Robert) Graham; thirteen nieces and nephews; and ten great‑nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the compassionate staff at Grafton’s Aurora Cancer Center and Horizon Home Care and Hospice.
Jodi’s family will receive friends and relatives at Holy Angels Church in West Bend from 1-2:45 pm on Tues., August 25, with a service to be officiated by dear friend Father Charlie Zabler at 3 pm.
Wearing Jodi’s favorite color, pink, is encouraged.
Jodi will be laid to rest in a private service at Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Winterspring Farm, 4382 Hickory Road, West Bend, WI, 53090.
