JoAnn Weaver, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.
Born on July 31st, 1934, to George and Mary (nee Rhode) Gillis, JoAnn lived a life rooted in compassion and selflessness. She believed deeply that family was life's greatest treasure, and she embodied that belief in every gesture, every word, and every moment she shared with those she loved. To everyone fortunate enough to know her, JoAnn was a quiet force-- always putting others before herself, always offering comfort, and always showing up with grace and resilience.
JoAnn possessed a quick mind and a good sense of humor. But it was her quiet courage-- especially in the face of adversity and tragedy-- that truly defined her. She met life's challenges with dignity and strength, never seeking recognition, only offering love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard "Bill" Weaver; her parents; her brothers Lloyd "Pug" Gillis (sister-in-law Mary Jane) and Bruce Gillis; and her brother-in-law Bill Jarvey. Their memories live on in the stories she shared and the love she carried.
JoAnn is survived by her sons Michael (Lisa), David (Gail), and Willard (Christine); her sister Marlene; and her sister-in-law Dorothy. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews-- all of whom held a special place in her heart.
A funeral service for JoAnn will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church (
2881 Division Rd, Jackson, WI 53037) on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
JoAnn's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and the enduring power of love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
