Joan M. Schreier (nee Schmitz), 74, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014. She was born on September 1, 1939 in Cashton, WI, to the late Raymond and Frances (nee Frederick) Schmitz. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. She later met and married Leonard Schreier on September 4, 1961. Joan was a long time member of the West Bend Moose Chapter 732. She loved to bake, volunteer for the Loom, Smelt Fry and babysit. During the winter months it was Tuesday darts and Sheepshead on Thursdays and in the summer months she loved horseshoes. Spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed the most.

Joan was a loving mother to Donna Faber, Charles Schreier, Cheryl (David) Beck, Robert (Michelle) Schreier; grandmother of Nicole, Katie and Adam Beck, Elizabeth, Andrew and Gavin Schreier; great grandmother of Caydon Beck; step-grandmother of Jodee Faber and Amy Moisio; step-great-grandmother of Tory, Shaelyn and Riley. Sister of Alred (Alice) Schmitz, Walter (Emily) Schmitz, Carlton (Lori Kaye) Schmitz, Anita (Ray) Zimmerman; sister-in-law of Rita (Gerald) Barry, Jerome Schreier, and Ann Schreier. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, dear brother Richard Schmitz, her in-laws Cecelia (Laverne) Hemmersbach, Gerald Schreier, Marcella Schreier, Grace Schmitz; a nephew Micheal Schmitz and a niece Theresa Schmitz.

A first visitation will take place Thursday March 6, 2014 from 4:00-6:45PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend (1420 W. Paradise Dr.) with a Rosary at 7:00PM. A second visitation will take place Friday March 7, 2014 from 10:00-10:45AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th Ave.). Interment will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
