Jerry R. Pflughoeft entered into eternal peace on Monday, September 14, 2015, in his home surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on December 1, 1942 to Walter and Helen (Zanzig) Pflughoeft. When Jerry was just an infant his mother passed away. Several years later his dad remarried Sylvia Heimann (Holmes) giving Jerry a new mom and two big brothers. He attended Rufus King High School graduating in 1961 and then attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He served in the Army Reserves for 8 years.
After working for several different companies as a transportation brokerage/salesman, he began his own transportation company named TOPSS in 1985, which is still existing today thanks to some very dedicated employees.
Jerry met his wife, Jane (Bingen) while they were both members of the St. Mary's choir in West Bend. They were married on July 5, 1985 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Bend. They lived in West Bend until 1991 when they moved to their home in Slinger.
Jerry was very involved in his church both at St. Mary's in West Bend and later at St. Mary of the Hill in Hubertus. He served as a member of the Parish Council and as a Trustee and was an active member of the choir in both parishes. His faith and love of God was very important to him.
Jerry was an avid sports fan. He loved football, attending many Packer and Badger games. He was a great fisherman making a fishing trip to Canada an annual event with the guys!
Jerry and Jane enjoyed vacationing every summer. Some of their favorite trips were to Nova Scotia, Hawaii, and they especially enjoyed traveling out West. Jerry and Jane loved spending time together. He was an avid sheepshead player, bowler, golfer, and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. He loved nature and animals, especially his two special Keeshond buddies: Missy and Buffy.
Although Jerry's life was way too short, he lived life to the fullest. He was very involved in life. His love for others was clearly evident in his cheerful, friendly, positive attitude. Throughout his battle with cancer he still tried to stay positive and upbeat.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was often the event planner! He loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Jane, his sons Michael of Albany, New York and David (Kristin) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, grandchildren: Sarah (Segun) Lawal, Andrea, Logan, and Eden Pflughoeft. He is further survived by his brothers: Walter Pflughoeft and Jim (Bev) Heimann, his sister-in-law Elaine (Dave) Strachota, brother-in-laws Steve (Michelle), John (Nancy) and Robert Bingen and many nieces and nephews.
