Jerold C. Waedekin "Jerry", age 78, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2014 at Cedar Lake Hospice. Born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1935, to Charles and Esther (nee Froelich) Waedekin. He was raised in Milwaukee, and graduated from Lutheran High School in 1953. Jerry married Lois Sawotka on February 1, 1958, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He was a veteran of the US Army. Jerry was employed as a Police Electronic Technician with the Milwaukee Police Department and retired after 31 years of dedicated service.

Jerry enjoyed the country life, including hunting, boating and fishing. He had a lifelong interest in ham radio. Jerry was very active in church and served as a trustee. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his grandkids. He also liked to travel with Lois. Jerry always loved playing sheepshead and having a good conversation.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois; children Robert (Gayle), Timothy (Jackie) and Peggy (Eric) Weber; grandchildren Jacquelyn Waedekin, Megan Weber and Melinda Weber; brother-in-law Ken (Carol) Sawotka; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jayne and Judith (Dale "Jim") Manchester.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana Ave., West Bend), at 12 Noon with Pastor Richard Lauersdorf officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10AM until the time of service. Private interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Memorials to Good Shepherd Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School appreciated.
