Jeanette "Jenny" Gundrum, (nee Mago) of Slinger passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the age of 94. Jenny was born into the loving arms of Nickalous and Loretta Mago on March 25, 1920 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hartford. Jenny received her nursing degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing of Fond du Lac in 1941. She worked in nursing until marrying the love of her life, Roy Gundrum, in Slinger on October 23, 1943, where they began raising their family.
Jenny was a life long member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger, a member of the Christian Mother's Society, Senior Friends of Hartford, and the Slinger/Cedar Lake Homemaker's Club. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Barb (Bill) Badini of West Bend, Rosie (Don) Brown of Scottsville, KY, Frank (Sherry) of Hartford, Lorie (Tom) Theusch of Slinger, and Mark (Kay) of Temperance, MI, and one daughter-in-law, Shirley Gundrum, of Slinger. Jenny will also be missed by 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Jenny is further survived by one brother Nick Mago, sister-in-law, Marion (John) Thoma and brother-in-law, James Brodzeller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Jenny is preceded in death by her husband Roy, a son Tom, two brothers, and one great-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 6:00 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 202 Washington St, Slinger, WI, with Fr. Richard Stoffel officiating. Friends and family visited from 4:00 pm until the time of Mass at the church. Burial took place at Old St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Slinger Food Pantry, Senior Friends, or St. Peter's Catholic Church.
