Jean F. Gerner, age 69, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017. She was born on January 4, 1948. She graduated from West Bend High School and attended UW Stevens Point. Jean worked as a Personal Assistant most of her career in the West Bend area.

She was a lifelong resident of West Bend who cared deeply for all in her community. She was outgoing, caring and always tried to help others. Jean delighted in creating memories with her eight grandchildren, cherishing each one of them dearly. She enjoyed watching live music and traveling the world with family and friends. Jean was a strong, clever, independent woman who left an impression upon many people's hearts and will be missed greatly.

Survived by daughter Kari (Jim) Thornborough of Chicago, IL; son Kurt Gerner of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Blue, Ivy, Ruby, Gray & Hue Thornborough of Chicago, IL; Lucille Aragon-Gerner, Max Burgess & Emma Gerner-Johnson of Milwaukee, WI; sister Jane Gamble of Mount Calvary, WI and brother John Laufer of Park Falls, WI; dear friend Colleen Haas; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by mother D. Jean Laufer & father Jerry J. Laufer.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend). The visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18th from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
