Chalmers, Janice J. (nee Busse) 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in West Bend, WI. She was born on April 22, 1925 in Chicago, IL. She married Hal Chalmers in 1946 and moved to Grayslake, IL soon after. Living in Grayslake, Jan and Hal raised three children. She was active in the PTA, the "Ladies" book club and sewing club. She also was a member of the Lake Villa "Fishing Club" during the years she worked at the Lake Villa Middle School Library/Learning Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and creating stained glass art for family and friends. Jan and Hal traveled the world and in later years looked forward to spending the winter months in Hermosa Beach, CA, where they enjoyed time with their son and his family. Hal biked "The Strand" and Janice enjoyed the beach with their grandchildren. In 1994, Hal and Jan moved to Campbellsport, WI where they enjoyed the solitude and nature that a rural area can bring. Over the last few years, Jan greatly missed the time she enjoyed with Lee and Greg's beloved dog, Emma, who passed before Janice.

She is survived by her loving children, Lynn (Larry) Malek of Lake Villa, IL, Rex (Jackie) Chalmers of Scottsdale, AZ and Lee (Greg) Brda of Campbellsport, WI; cherished grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Kukla, Alison (Logan) Orr, Jourdan Chalmers; and adored great-grandchildren, Joshua and Morgan Kukla; she is further survived by her sister, Donna Moon; sister-in-law, Georgia Busse; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister; and brother. Services will be private. Condolences may also be posted at the funeral home.
