June 29, 1945 – June 8, 2024
Janice Arleen Bateman (nee Schaenzer), 78, Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Janice was born July 29, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI, to Myrtle (nee Kvalheim) and Anthony Schaenzer. She Graduated from Rufus King High School and attended Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to Jeffery Bateman on June 17, 1967 at Lincoln Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.
Together, Janice and Jeff raised their two sons. In 1976 Janice and Jeff started their business and worked together for 32 years. Janice enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Door County with her family, traveling to Hawaii, New York City, Florida, California and many of the states in between. Also, she really liked to play bingo.
She leaves behind a loving family to remember her, including her husband of 57 years, Jeff, her two children James (NancyJo) and Lee (Jennifer); her four grandchildren, Marvin, Briana, Abigail, and Elizabeth; siblings DuWayne (Nancy) Schaenzer, Robert Schaenzer, Gloriann (Ted) Gagliano, and Sister-in-law Bonnie Hanson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff's parents, sister-in-law, Mary Schaenzer, brother-in-law Bruce Hanson, and nephew, Steve Schaenzer.
A Memorial Service in honor of Janice will be at 11:00am on Friday, June 21, 2024 at St. Luke Lutheran Church (4806 Arthur Rd. Slinger, WI 53086) with Pastor Joshua Gyson officiating. Following will be a meal and time of sharing at church.
Memorial gifts should be given to: The St. Luke Lutheran Church Youth Group.
