Janet L Werner (nee Meyer) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Leroy Meyer and Leone Merritt (nee Poehls). Janet married Robert J. Werner on November 15
th
, 1969. She worked as a Service Expediter at WE Energies for a number of years until she left to become a stay-at-home mom.
She will forever be remembered as a woman of strong faith, strong values and an unwavering commitment and love for her husband. Janet's intelligence lit up a room when she entered; she often spoke her mind and no one ever needed to wonder what she thought on a topic. Her softer side was evident with her grandchildren. Known for her Christmas baking escapades which included making over 100 dozen cookies a year, Janet got the name of "Cookie Grandma," from one of her great grandchildren. She eagerly engaged in playing board games and Sheepshead with everyone. Janet loved all people with her whole heart and often remembered birthdays and anniversaries that others had forgotten. Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed being a part of multiple book clubs over the years. Her passion for travel took her around the country and to Europe for a vacation of a lifetime.
Janet is survived by her brother, James (Judy); and four children, John (Melanie), Jeff (Michelle), David (Julie) and Jackie. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two extraordinary nieces and many other dear friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; sister, Mary, and many other dear ones.
