Obituary
Janet Marie Espitia (nee Parker), age 84, peacefully passed away at home in Kewaskum on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on April 6, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI to Charles and June (nee Belanger) Parker. Janet married her love, Joseph Nicholas Espitia, on February 18, 1958 in Wauwatosa. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1975 and then moved to West Bend. Janet ran a daycare for over 20 years and was a foster of many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a colorful character who many called grandma! She was also a lifetime member of TOPS.
Janet is survived by her 2 sons, Thomas (Karen) & William (Denita); grandchildren, Steven (Kristin) Espitia, Kathleen (Calvin) Wynn, Ann (Richard) Andre, and Rachel (Greg) Rate; great grandchildren, Steven Jr (Hayleigh), Summer, Xavier Espitia; Victoria & Zachary Dries, Ezekiel Wynn; and Bailey & Scarlett Rate; great-great-granddaughter Aspen Espitia; sister, Barbara Buday and brothers-in-law, Charles Espitia and Paul Kobs Sr. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her love, Joe; her parents; sister, Susan; sister-in-law, Helen Kobs and brothers-in-law, David, Robert, Leo Espitia and Alex Buday.
A reading of her self-written eulogy will be at 1:15pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 23rd from 10am until 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Washington County Memorial
A special thank you to the best doctor she and Joe could ever have; Dr Francis McCann, who took great care of them for 40 plus years and was considered part of the family.
