Janet "Jan" Ann Bassler (nee Bensemann), age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in her home with her husband by her side. She was born on August 10, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI to Harold and Nelius (nee Baumann) Bensemann. She attended Shorewood High School and graduated from UW-Madison in 1963 with a degree in Physical Therapy. Jan married her love Carl Bassler on October 5, 1963 at Fox Point Lutheran Church. Jan enjoyed fishing, belonged to a bible study group and she loved her dogs. Faith, family and friends were her life.

Jan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl; children, Bryan (Jennifer) Bassler, Gail (Joe) Rathsack; grandchildren, Kira, Caleb, Katelyn, Kyla and Caden Bassler; her brother Allen (Evie) Bensemann and sister-in-law, Jessie Arnold. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law, George Arnold and Randal Bassler.

A Funeral Service will be at 1:00PM on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (6869 Wildwood Rd. West Bend, WI 53090) with Pastor Darren Knoll presiding. Visitation will be at church on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10:00AM until 12:45PM. Interment will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
