Obituary
Jane Margaret Schmidt, age 80, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was born on March 9, 1945, the daughter of Myron and Mary Ann (Kortendick) Schmidt. Raised in West Bend, Jane attended the West Bend schools, later graduating from UW-Oshkosh. Jane had a long career as a social worker in child services, serving Denver County and Arapahoe County, CO. She has a great passion for animals, supporting many animal organizations, and was especially a champion for rescue dogs.
Jane is survived by her brother, Tom (Sharyn) of Hartland, sister, Ruth Schloemer of West Bend, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, and her best four-legged buddy, Pickles. Jane was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family burial will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery in West Bend.
