Jamie Joseph Rohde, 49, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 12, 1976, Jamie attended West Bend East High School class of 1995 and graduated from Whitewater University with a degree in Education. He spent his life as a respected teacher and was known for his dedication to his students. Jamie loved words: reading, writing, and everything in between. His writing became art through his extensive collection of fountain pens, stationery, and ink.
Jamie is survived by his parents, Glenn Rohde and Judy Rohde, and his two siblings: Jessica (Travis) Damme and Jacob (Catherine) Rohde. His nieces and nephews include Ava, Owen, Isaac, Moriah, Keziah, Kayla, Caden, William, Jordyn and Taya. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Jamie will be remembered for his kindness, his obsession with the color orange, and his intelligence, which far outpaced his ability to share it. He worked in two modes: one-word answers or hours-long discussions about very narrow topics. He had a way with words that made even his most ridiculous arguments worth listening to. An amazing uncle, Jamie never missed a birthday, always surprising the kids with the perfect gift. Despite his premature end, our love for him is endless.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held for Jamie.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the team at Aurora St Luke's MRICU and Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.
