James "Jim" Zimbal, 83, of the Town of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Jim was born in Sheboygan, WI to the late Roland and Aurelia (Krause) Zimbal. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1959 and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1963. Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former June Schinker on August 18, 1962 at Saint George Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls, WI (Six Corners). Jim had a strong faith in God and was a longtime member at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Upon graduating from UWM, Jim started working for JC Penney's and then worked for the West Bend Company. Jim retired after 33 years from the West Bend Company as Director of Information Services.
Jim loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed these activities with his family. Jim also enjoyed playing in golf leagues with friends at Hon-E-Kor and Hawthorn Hills. Jim and June enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, Australia and Florida.
Jim was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with them at the family cabin in Green Lake, WI. His wife, June, proceed him in death on November 15, 2011. Jim is survived by his cherished children, David (Jill) Zimbal, Mark (Sherry) Zimbal, and Jill (Jon) Franklin; six loving grandchildren, William and Mary Zimbal, Brady (Kelsey) and Ryan Franklin, and Madison and Joshua Zimbal;
sister Susie Shetney; sister-in-law Joyce Wagner; Brother-in-law Vincent (Carla)Schinker Jr.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Aurelia Zimbal; parents-in-law, Vincent and Leona Schinker; brother, Robert (Audrey) Zimbal; brothers-in-law, Roger Wagner and Orville Shetney; sister-in-law, Ruth (Dale) Macier.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, from 10:00AM, until 11:45AM, with a Funeral Service at 12:00PM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6
th
Ave., West Bend. Pastor Jeff Hesse presiding. Private interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park. Memorials would be appreciated to St. Johns Lutheran Church or the Threshold (600 Rolfs Ave, West Bend, WI, 53090).
The family would like to thank the wonderful care takers with Joe's Angels. The care provided to Jim was like it was their own father.
