James "Jim" Schulz, born in Milwaukee on January 1, 1930, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in West Bend, WI, where he had retired. Jim attended Whitefish Bay High School and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He served in the 25th Infantry Division in Korea in 1951. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy, of 60 years, his parents, Rose and Ray Schulz, and his brothers Gordon, Donald, Raymond, and Richard (Dick). Jim and Nancy are survived by five children: Richard (Patty) – Ripon, Lauren – Silver Point, TN, Robert (Lori) – West Bend, Daniel (Amy) – Palm Desert, CA, and Randy (Sandy) – Theresa. Later, he joined his wife, Nancy, in an innovative new venture. Nancy was one of the first in Wisconsin to establish a Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF), a concept that would later evolve into what is now known nationwide as assisted living facilities. Together, they developed and expanded elderly care homes in Hartford, West Bend, Appleton, Jackson, and Mayville under the name Tri Manor. Their efforts helped shape the future of senior care, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and the communities they served. After retiring, Jim and Nancy moved to Jupiter, FL in 1992. Following Nancy's passing, Jim returned to West Bend in 2019.
