James F. Horton "Jim", age 92, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the Kathy Hospice of West Bend. He was born in February of 1923, in West Allis to Lisle and Gocia (nee DeMallie) Horton. He was a graduate of the Class of 1941 from West Allis Central and class of 1950 from Carrol College. Jim was a B17 pilot in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He achieved the rank of Captain and later served in the Air National Guard. Jim married Arlene Surprise on August 20, 1944 in Roswell, NM. Jim was a self-employed sales representative and a proprietor of Plaza Motel, Dickeyville, WI.

Jim is survived by his wife of 71 years, Arlene; children Lon (Louise), Deborah McClellan, Cindy (Steven) Plautz; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Jim is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and son-in-law Bruce McClellan.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend) on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 12:00pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 10:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Kathy Hospice of West Bend (3232 Pleasant Valley Rd., West Bend, WI 53095).
