James (Colonel Jimmy) F. Cotter, of West Bend, WI Age 79. Passed away peacefully on Saturday October 17, 2015. He was born to Desmond and Julia (nee Goretzki) Cotter in Wittenberg, WI on August 17, 1936. James was raised in Barton, WI and graduated from West Bend High School.
Jimmy was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed gambling, taking cruises and cooking and is best known for his family pig roasts. He was fun to be around and will always be remembered and appreciated for his jokes, sayings and one-liners. After retirement, Jimmy's passion turned to auctioneering and he became the proud owner of Cotter Auction Service in West Bend, WI where he acquired the nickname "The Colonel". He was a wonderful and caring father and was very proud to serve as a member of the United States Navy.
Jimmy is survived by his special friend Donna Klumb, children, Tom (Barb) Cotter, Bob (Paula) Cotter, Kathy (Mike) Sebeny, Mike (Theresa) Cotter; grandchildren, Nick Cotter, Andy Cotter, Robert Cotter Jr., Nathan Cotter, Josh Cotter, Brittany Wagner, Tanya Wagner, Michael Sebeny Jr., Jessica Cotter and Julia Cotter; brother, Larry (Nancy) Cotter; sisters, Sally (Chuckie) Fellenz and Susie (Thomas) Guth; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Collette (Bernie) Kastner.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI) on Wednesday October 21, 2015 at 5:00pm with Dan Schroeder presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service.
