Jim Borusky of West Bend was called home by the Lord on May 23, 2014 after complications resulting from a fall. He was born in his grandmother's hospital in Langdon, North Dakota in 1926. During the Great Depression, his family moved to Bryant, WI. Later, he lived on the family farm in Pearson. He attended Cloverdale School and met his future wife Trudy Williams while in the 2nd grade.
He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He saw action in the South Pacific. Returning home, he attended Langlade County Normal school and married Trudy Williams in 1947. He taught for a few years, and then worked as a Conservation Warden. When the family moved to West Bend, he worked construction while attending UW-Oshkosh to earn a Bachelors Degree in Education and later a Masters Degree in Counseling. He taught at Kewaskum Elementary and then became a Guidance Counselor at Kewaskum Middle School.
Jim was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid hunter, belonged to the Barton Sportsman Club, designed landscapes for McKay's Nursery, was Grievance Chair for the Kewaskum Education Association, formed a writer's group in West Bend and wrote poetry and a novel. He loved and appreciated nature, especially owls.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, his children; Dawn of Virginia, Darlene (Dave Denis), Dana and Dale (Joanne) of West Bend. He has 4 grandsons, Derrick Denis (Marla), Daniel Borusky, Darrin Denis and Dustin Denis (Kim) and 2 great-grandchildren, Tracy and Annabella.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the skill and kindness of the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital, the West Bend Clinic and Kathy's Hospice. Phillip Funeral Home is assisting the family who will hold a private family ceremony later.
