Jacqueline A. Olson (nee Koch), age 84, of West Bend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Ivy Manor. She was born on April 5, 1930, in Genesee Depot to Ralph and Evelyn (nee Tschantz) Koch. Jacqueline was raised in Jackson and graduated from West Bend High School in 1947. She met Stanley W. Olson at Dr. Bodewin's chiropractic office where she was a receptionist, and they married on October 18, 1957, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church. Jacqueline was employed as a crossing guard at the corner of Decorah Rd. and Indiana Ave. until she retired in 2000.
Jacqueline enjoyed travelling especially to Disneyland, Alaska, Vancouver, New York and the East Coast. She was a published poet and writer, and she loved gardening, collecting bottles and dolls and loved rummaging.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 57 years, Stanley; children Chris (Lisa Mueller), Bob (Cheryl), Eric, Mark (Julie) and Jim (Kimmy); grandchildren Keaton (Rhiannon), Jenna, Travis, Justin (Abby), Cody, Dustin, Evan, Quintin, Adam, Avery, Olivia and Tanner Bowen; great-grandchildren Ella and Kayden; sister-in-law Pamela Soderlund; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Sally (Ray) Kirmse and brother-in-law Dave Soderlund.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 1:00PM at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church (323 S. Fifth Ave.), West Bend, with Pastor Wesley Falk officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Newburg.
