Jacob John Kolbow aka "Jake", age 45, peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior on June 22,
2024, after a courageous battle with GBM brain cancer at his home in West Bend surrounded by
his wife, mother, daughter in law and two very close friends of the family. He was born on
December 2, 1978, to John and Debra (Gauger) Kolbow and was the first child of three.
Jake enjoyed the outdoors and all its hobbies, most of this with his wife Danielle Kolbow(Hintz).
His two sons Sebastian and Brandon usually in toe behind them. From hunting and fishing
alongside weekend camping trips Jacob truly enjoyed his family and friends in this environment.
Jacob's son Brandon was the most eager to learn all he could about hunting from his dad with the
extra boating and machinery fixes. Oldest son Sebastian would rather do the fishing and eating of
it than help do maintenance on the boat. They each had their time with their dad doing things
they would not know until later they were learning from him. This would include their dads
arguing/haggling capabilities lol.
Jacob and his wife Danielle would plan many trips and camping events with his brother Luke
Kolbow, his sister in-law Regina (Humpal) Kolbow and his sister Kristal (Kolbow)Knudtson.
These trips always included his nieces and nephews Kyla Johnson, Madyx Knudtson and Grant
Kolbow, Grace Kolbow and young Levi Kolbow who Jake liked to tease. Not all families get to
enjoy their families to the extent ours did, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Jake had so many friendships at his work where he shared his love for God and the job itself. He
loved his company and was proud of the work he did there. He joined in the company parties
and Walleye Weekend events which made him enjoy his job even more. There is not many
places, he would say to his wife where one can say that they are friends with the bosses/owners
and co-workers. The support he got when he was diagnosed was something that made him cry
and truly happy that he was so honest and devoted to Strohwig Industries.
Jake is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 26 years, Danielle (Hintz)
Kolbow, sons Sebastian Kolbow, daughter in law Camron (Ratzel) Kolbow, Brandon Kolbow
and girlfriend Tori Hacker. His parents, John and Debra Kolbow; parents-in-law, John and Karen
Gruling, siblings: Luke Kolbow and Kristal Kolbow Knudtson, siblings-in-law, Regina (Humpal)
Kolbow. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, Kyla Johnson, Madyx Knudtson,
Grant Kolbow, Grace Kolbow, and Levi Kolbow. along with a long list of other relatives and
friends.
Jake is preceded in death by: Grandparents Oliver, Hazel and Elaine Kolbow, Leonard and
Nancy Gauger, cousin: Ryan Priefer aka Rye bread.
