Obituary
Imelda Maria Fassbender, daughter of Bradley John Fassbender and Taresa Barbara Fassbender (Van Asten), born on June 7, 2024, has passed to eternal life on June 9, 2024. She is survived by her siblings, Philomena Marie, Louis Pio, Josephine Rose, Bruno John, and Bridget Mary; her grandparents, Terrance Fassbender, Cynthia Fassbender (Mergener), Gregory Van Asten and Rebecca Van Asten (Van Handel); her great grandparents, Marian Fassbender (Goetz), Donald Van Handel and Margaret Van Handel (Chappa) and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who all love her immensely.
While our whole family is grieving so deeply for our sweet baby, Imelda Maria, we feel so blessed by the gift of her short life! We have been given a perfect little saint! Even as our own arms ache to hold her again, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is in the arms of her Heavenly Father and the most perfect of all mothers, Mary Immaculate.
We cannot understand the ways of God and His divine plan for Imelda's life, but we certainly felt His loving presence through our suffering by the many graces and comforts He granted us throughout it all. Most of all, the gift of her birth on the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! That tender loving sign from God has not gone unnoticed! The fact that she was born alive so she could receive the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation were a great comfort to us as well and all the time her little heart stayed beating so she could meet her family alive! Her little 2lb 12oz body kept fighting until the final hours of Sunday, the Lord's Day and Resurrection Day.
Imelda Maria will forever be a part of our family and we will always miss her presence here. We hope and pray that she inspires us daily to live lives filled with virtue so that, at the end of our days, we may be found worthy to dwell with her in eternal bliss!

Imelda's casket will be open in the vestibule of the church from 9 am until 9:20 am.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 17th, at 9:30 am at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church (524 W Historic Mitchell St., Milwaukee, WI 53204). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Maternity Cemetery (2414 Hillside Rd. Richfield, Wisconsin) .
