Henry James Lauscher, age 85 years, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Ivy Manor in Jackson. He was born on October 30, 1932 in Wauwatosa to Stanley and Rose (nee Kapalczynski) Lauscher and was raised in Milwaukee. He graduated from Boys Tech in 1952, then was drafted into the US Army. Henry served active duty from July 1952 to July 1953 as a PFC in the Army Infantry in Korea receiving the Combat Infantry Badge, The United Nations Service Medal, The Korean Service Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, The National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and an Honorable Discharge in 1960. On March 2, 1957, Henry married Donna Mae Richter at St. Patrick's Church in Racine. He was employed working with counter tops, first with Kaufman Counter Tops as a laborer/installer, and later was the owner of H&L Countertops.
Henry loved going up north to the cottage, loved dogs, was into cars and owned a 1961 Ford Thunderbird. He enjoyed gardening, eating organically, and naturopathic medicine as he hated traditional medicine. He was a member of the VFW Post 1393, The American Legion Post 36 and St. Hubert Catholic Parish.
He is survived by his children, Keith J. (Robbe) Lauscher, Jim D. Lauscher, Kathleen Manuele, Susan Lauscher, and Alan Lauscher, his sister Glorian (Bob) Luecht; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, various relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna, grandparents, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Henry will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 6:00pm at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr.) with Pastor Stephen Gorton presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13th from 4:00pm until time of service at 6:00pm. Final place of rest will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
