Henry J. Dahlinger "Sonny", age 80, of West Bend, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 11, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Belle Fourche, SD, on February 3, 1934, to Henry and Otelia (nee Achtziger) Dahlinger. Henry was raised in South Dakota and moved to Wisconsin at the age of 12. He married Kathleen Krell on May 30, 1959, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Henry was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1957.
Henry was employed in the electrical trades. He was always busy in the garage tinkering with things when he wasn't working. Henry loved fishing. He and Kathleen enjoyed travelling. Henry loved his dog Dozer, his many granddogs and grandcat. He enjoyed going to rummage sales. Henry also loved spending time with his family.
Henry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen; children Keith (Eunice) Dahlinger, Randall (Carol) Dahlinger, Michael Dahlinger and Douglas (Johnnie) Dahlinger; grandsons Nicholas (Katy) Dahlinger and Ryan Dahlinger; step-grandchildren Stacy (Mike) Birschbach, Jason (Elizabeth) Hall, Craig (Beth) Hall, Kellie (Kyle) Allie and John Burnham; step great-grandchildren Taylor, Devyn, Bailey, Payton, Megan, Grace, Henry, Makenzie, Emilia and Rylee; brothers Edward (Donna) Dahlinger and Harold Dahlinger; nieces; nephews; best friend and loyal beloved companion, Dozer; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Anna and George Krell, sister-in-law Marge Bowe and brothers-in-law John Bowe and Eugene Krell.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend), at 5PM. Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home from 2pm until the time of the Service. Private interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
