Helene Mae Kocher (nee McCartney) passed peacefully on September 20, 2014, at the Harbor Haven Nursing Home in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, at the age of 88. Helene was born near Platteville, Wisconsin, on January 19, 1926, to Floyd and Bessie McCartney. She married Marlin Gustave Kocher on December 24, 1943.

Helene is survived by her sister, Vera Koenig of Fond Du Lac, WI; her son, James M (Judith Grotelueschen) Kocher of Litchfield Park, AZ; daughter Corinne (David Henle) Kocher of Seattle, WA; son-in-law David Jaeger; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin G. Kocher; two brothers, Richard McCartney and Merlin McCartney; and her daughter, Marlene M. Jaeger.

Helene was active in the Democratic Party of Washington County. Helene's final resting place will be with her husband, Marlin, a United States Navy veteran, at Arlington National Cemetery.
