Obituary
Harriet Ann Cain (nee Grunwaldt), age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Serenity Villa in Slinger, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1927 to Gustav and Hilda (nee Bast) Grunwaldt. She graduated West Bend High School and was a long-time member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Her and her late husband Robert, enjoyed traveling and going up north. Harriet was a tireless caregiver to her husband and all she loved. Her later years were enriched by communicating daily with all four of her children. Time spent with family and friends was her passion.
Harriet is forever loved by her children, Barbara (Scott) Fleming, Tom (Jane), Dan (Kathi), Rich (Marilyn); grandchildren, Ryan (Kate) Fleming, Meghan (Bryan) Schneeweis, Michael (Alicia), Matthew (Stephanie), Andrew (Hilary), Eric (Anna), Ross (Rachael), Shannon (Brad) Borum, Jessica (Brian) Tully; great-grandchildren, Landen, Liam, Clare, Emma, Marlowe, Sam, Charlotte, Abigail, Max, Claire, Charlie, Henry, Edison, Baylor, Taysom, Tucker, Allister; sister-in-law, Margaret Diercks, brother-in-law, John (Helen) Cain. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Harriet is preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents; brothers-in-law James Cain and Patrick Diercks and her great-grandson Baylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N 8 th Ave. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be at church on Wednesday, June 26 th from 9:00am until 10:45am. Burial to immediately follow mass at Washington County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Holy Angels Catholic Church and Wounded Warrior Foundation.
A special thank you to the staff at Serenity Villa for their devoted care and compassion.
