Harold F. Gauger, 90, from the Town of Trenton, passed away on October 8, 2014 at Emerald Way in West Bend. He was born on June 1, 1924 to Emil and Lisetta (nee Dettmann) Gauger.
He worked at Gehl Company for 39 years. He taught himself to play the concertina at age 12 and over the years he played at many functions including weddings, parties, and Fireman Picnics. He could fix just about anything and was handy with wood working. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harold was a member of Gehl Hexelbank Club and Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
He is survived by his loving wife Doris (nee Schmidt); children: Kenneth (Sharon) Gauger of Kewaskum, Keith (Sharon) Gauger of Reedsville, Steven Gauger of Kewaskum, and Susan (Chris) Sellers of Woodstock, IL; grandchildren: Pamela (Mark) McQuin of Jefferson and Gretchen (Anthony) Engel of Ladysmith; step-grandchildren: Christopher Jr. (Suzanne) Sellers, Alivia Sellers, Stevi (Casey) Fitzgerald-Smith; great-grandchildren: Madeline and Riley McQuin, Ethan and Elyse Engel; step-great-grandchildren: Ethan, Evie, Cody, Bradley, Dane, Brielle, and Vivianne; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Kissinger and Violet Becker; brother-in-law Marvin Schmidt. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ruben (Ada) Herbert (Lorraine), Elmer (Evelyn), Arnold Gauger; sister Meta (Dan) Infalt; grandson Clifford Gauger; six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend) with Pastor David Schoob presiding. The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 13th from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. Interment will follow the service at Washington County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity Lutheran Church (Family Promise or Radio Fund) or Habitat for Humanity would be appreciated.
