Gwendolyn C. Pfeil (nee Meyer), age 72, of West Bend, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, February 12, 2015. She was born on December 7, 1942 in Milwaukee to Carl and Ruth (nee Ellsworth) Meyer. Gwen was raised in Milwaukee and she married her childhood sweetheart Ron on July 14, 1960 in Milwaukee at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Gwen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was of utmost importance in her life. Gwen was very passionate about her Gordon Setters and dedicated much of her time and patience to her dogs. She and her husband Ron were very successful training their dogs for the A.K.C. in hunt tests, obedience and confirmation. They were members of the Gordon Setters Club of America and Badgerland Gordon Setters Club of Wisconsin. Gwen enjoyed reading, cross stitching, knitting and crocheting.
Gwen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ron; children Robin (Jim) Cotter, Timothy Pfeil, Curt (Bridget) Pfeil; grandchildren Jenevieve, Stacy, Natashja, CJ (Curtis), Mitchell and Marissa; great-grandchildren Taylor and Maddie; sibling Gregory Meyer; three beloved dogs Kaylee, Cash and Magic. Preceded in death by her parents and grandson Jared Cotter.
A Funeral Service will be held at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Troy Loether of Kettlebrook Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.
