IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory
Roeske
April 12, 1937 – January 2, 2025
Gregory Paul Roeske, age 87, passed away on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was born on April 12th, 1937, to Clarence and Mary (nee Celmer) Roeske. As a child, Greg spent time with his grandparents in Eagle River, where he worked as a caddy at the golf course, and developed a love for the outdoors, which he expressed through walking in the woods, fishing, and hunting. Since he had such fond memories of Eagle River, when a plot of land next to his parent's went up for sale, Carol and Greg decided to buy it and build their own cottage in the north woods. It was in this cottage that they enjoyed their summers. Once Greg retired, he and Carol would go on road trips to see parts of the United States they hadn't seen before, particularly to warmer weather, as Greg was always cold. Greg was always great with directions, always knowing the best way to get somewhere, even if he had never been there himself. He knew all the highways, and all the best places to stop along the way, and he seemed to make friends everywhere he went. He definitely left an impression everywhere he went. Greg served his country by joining the Army at the age of 17, which offered him the opportunity to see Germany. Serving overseas also gave him a lot of interesting stories that he loved to tell to anyone that would listen. Greg came from a large family and would do anything to help a friend or family member out. He would literally give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it, aside from when he became older (just because it was too cold out). Greg worked at Nature's Nook, which was owned by his brother John, which is where he got his vast knowledge of plants. Greg treasured the time he got to spend at their cottage up north with Carol and his girls when they were young, and the time he got to spend with their families once they got married and had children of their own. Nothing was more important to him than family, Hoo-rah!
Gregory is survived by his daughters Kristina (Ron), Stephanie (George); grandchildren, Jack, Henry, Grace and Nora; sisters, Dorothy (Kim), Charlotte, Roberta (Robert) and Mary Ann. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gregory is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol; his parents; Clarence and Mary, brothers; John, Charlie and Tim.
A Celebration of Life will be held at N161W19161 Oakland Drive Jackson, WI 53037, Saturday January 25th, 2025, from 12:00 until 3:00.
