Obituary

Gordon "Gordy" J. Magyga, 87, passed away on April 12, 2015. He was born on January 7, 1928 in Milwaukee. He attended High School at South Division and served proudly in the US Navy during WWII earning the rank of S1C. He was a Seaman USS Suffolk (AKA-69) and was awarded the following ribbons: American Area, Asiatic Pacific Area, Philippine Liberation, and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on July 14, 1946 and went on to work at Allen-Bradley Corporation.

Gordy was the past president of Green Lake Property Owner's Association in Farmington. He was an avid boater who enjoyed all types of fishing no matter the seasons. He served up the most awesome perch dinners.

Other things he enjoyed were having bonfires at the lake, cooking, reading, yard work, painting, craft making, going to movies, sports, all things with woodworking or building and glass projects.

The most important of all to him was God, all family members and great friends from various walks of life. He was the most wonderful husband with a loving heart, compassionate disposition, and always willing to give his time and talents to those who sought him out.

Gordy is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Karen Magyga; his children: Kathy (Jim) Tomamichel, Donna (Jerry) Rondorf; granddaughters: Jill (Chris) Oden, Jessica (Billy) Ackerman, Stacey (Tyler) Novogoratz, and Andrea (Ben) Elliott; also survived by his step-children: Chad Maertz, Troy Maertz, Kelly (Tom) Redlin, Stacy (Larry) Serchen; step-grandchildren: Autumn Jean Maertz, Clint Crawley, Samantha, Jake, and Travis Redlin, Londyn and Lance Mayer, Kristen Serchen, and Tyler (Kayla Kallas) Serchen; brother-in-law, Earl DeLaet Jr. and Godfather to James "Jimmy" Komp. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Josephine (Trader) Magyga and his first wife of 43 years, Lucy (nee Canales) Magyga.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bruce G. Griswold, Kraemer Cancer Center and Kathy Hospice in West Bend, and his best friend and confidant, Daniel T. Stemper.
