Obituary

Glen Ellefsen, 76, of the Town of Trenton passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Froedtert Hospital in the town of Polk after a valiant fight with AML. He was born June 3, 1948 in Wausau, WI to the late Edward and Margaret (Paterson) Ellefsen. On December 5, 1970 he was united in marriage to Therese (Lord) Ellefsen at Holy Angels Church, West Bend WI. He remained in West Bend throughout his life.

He graduated from Antigo High School in 1966 and just a few days after graduation came to West Bend to work at the West Bend Company. He was offered an apprenticeship there in the Engineering Department and went on to become a Product Engineer. His work involved some major travel time including many trips to Portugal and some to the Orient. He enjoyed this and actually made several European friendships and return trips for vacations with his wife. He had many enjoyable years there. He was offered and took early retirement after which he worked several other jobs both in West Bend and Kiel, WI. He ended his career with part-time maintenance employment at River Shores Regency working along with a few other men who also had worked at the West Bend Company.

Glen also enjoyed woodworking and the classic car scene. He even tried his hand at restoring a car or two. He loved any Wisconsin Badger sporting event, himself attending the occasional football game. He was a very outgoing individual and made many friends and acquaintances. His two boys would often say "Dad never met a stranger."

He truly loved his wife and children, but his grandchildren were the center of his life. He attended very many of their events if he could or definitely had to hear about them if he could not be there. He helped them in any way he could, giving a few "life chats" along the way. They appreciated and loved Grandpa right back.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 55 years and two sons: Craig (Katie) Ellefsen of Fond du Lac, WI and Ryan (Amy) Ellefsen of Durham, NC. The cherished grandchildren: Kayleigh (Tommy) Briggs, Nathaniel Ellefsen, Zachary Ellefsen, Jonah Ellefsen and Gillian Ellefsen. His siblings: sister, Peggy (Joseph) Berglund, brother Jordan Ellefsen (dear friend Monica), and sister-in-law Betty Ellefsen. Also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his brother Edward (Lad) Ellefsen, father and mother-in-law Franklin and Leona Lord.

Glen had the utmost regard for all those who cared for him throughout his medical journey. He is and will always be in our hearts.
