Obituary
Gerard was raised in Menomonee Falls, WI by his loving parents Robert and Catherine Flynn. He attended Menomonee Falls East High School, where he met Lisa (nee Boone), who would become his loving wife of over 36 years. Following his education he joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was proud to be a veteran. He was an avid Packers fan, and a long-time season ticket holder attending games with his parents, brother, and sister. He joined Morning Star Lutheran Church, where he was an active member, along with his family. Lisa being the wedding coordinator, Gerard took up a position running the video and sound boards, and ensuring Lisa got the processional timing right.
Gerard enjoyed deer hunting, golfing, darts, billiards, bowling, cribbage, staying up until 3 AM playing video games, lazy rivers, and real hot fudge sundaes. Every summer for 25 years you could find him at Action in Jackson, working diligently behind the grill.
In the past few months, feeding the birds and the squirrels in the front yard became his passion each day- to the point that sunflowers and corn have sprouted from the mess.
Gerard is survived by his wife Lisa; children Spencer, Shane, Sage; sister Maura (Paul) Galganski and their children Caitlin and Collin; brother Michael (Holly) and their son Jason; and sister-in-law Diane Boone. Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Catherine (nee Reilly). No w reunited a nd causing havoc with his long-time friend Tommy Bennett.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 9 th , 2025 at Morning Star Lutheran Church (N171W20131 Highland Rd, Jackson, WI 53037) at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1 PM- 2:45 PM.
Special thanks to the Fresenius Kidney Care Center in West Bend for their outstanding care and support for Gerard. Thanks as well to the Froedtert Cancer Center in West Bend, and the staff at Froedtert's West Bend and Wauwatosa campuses for all their support over the past few months.
