Gerald "Jerry" Irving Haas, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Kewaskum, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born to Erwin F. and Adeline B. (nee Radtke) Haas in Milwaukee, WI. His parents brought him to be baptized into the Christian faith, in Brown Deer, on November 21, 1937 when he was 36 days old. His sponsors were George Haas Jr., William Christianson and Helen A. Radtke.
Jerry grew up in a Christian family and regularly attended church and Sunday school. After two years of catechism instruction, he stood before his family and friends and confessed he was a Christian in the rite of Lutheran confirmation on May 13, 1951. He was just 13 years old, but he promised he would be faithful to Jesus all his life. He kept that promise for the remaining years of his earthly life.
Jerry attended Calvary Lutheran Grade School until his parents moved and he attended Brown Deer High School. Jerry attended Shorewood High School and graduated in 1955. He went onto University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and then into drafting and design for various companies in the Milwaukee area.
Jerry met Janice (nee Kuenn) in high school and they were married on November 22, 1958 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The lord blessed Jerry and Janice with many happy years together and 4 lovely children.
Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves on April 17, 1955 where he served for 8 years as a Corpsman.
On January 19, 1971, Jerry decided to go into sales and went to work for Aid Association for Lutherans. He worked for AAL for 23 year in Menomonee Falls and later in Mesa, AZ and enjoyed much success having gone to 22 conferences with Janice and his children.
Jerry enjoyed much of his free time with his family, going camping with a tent, motorhome, fifth wheel and finally a lake cabin in Woodruff, WI. In his later years, he did many wood working projects and golfing. He and Janice volunteered at church where they were needed and Jerry later served at the Bargin garden.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years Janice, children Michael Haas, Jeffery (Michelle) Haas, Susan Jahnke, James (Lori) Haas, precious granddaughter Kelly Haas. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother and father.
