George William "Bill" Zagel, 59, of West Bend, sadly passed away on May 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Bill bravely battled an aggressive cancer for 18 months. His strength and dedication during this challenging time was exemplary.
Bill was born to George "Bud" and Annette Zagel on July 25, 1964. Bill spent many of his days on Big Cedar Lake in West Bend enjoying boating and waterskiing. Bill graduated from Oak Creek High School and later met the love of his life, Renae. Bill and Renae cherished their 30 years of marriage. Bill felt his greatest achievement was raising two remarkable children that he was so proud of.
Bill retired from Miller Brewery after 20 years and was happiest spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed boating and "jaggin around". He found pleasure in helping others. He could fix almost anything, was a wonderful cook and was the life of the party. He loved preparing meals and sharing them with friends and family. Bill was so caring and complimentary of others. Bill valued hard work, honesty and treating others with respect. Bill's refusal to quit battling cancer was due to his love for so many people.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife Renae, children Kyle and Paige (Evan) Hau, mother Annette Bandle, sisters Tammy (Jerry) Krogman, Cindy (Ron Dzioba) Stever, brother Troy (Penny) Zagel, sister Heather Bandle. He was blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law, Janice Vraa. Bill is further survived by special nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by father Bud Zagel.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals at Froedtert Cancer Center and Froedtert Center for Advanced Care for their compassionate care during Bill's courageous battle.
