George Emil Sonntag, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Cedar Community in West Bend. He was born on March 11, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI to Emil and Pearl (nee Johnson) Sonntag. George received a degree from Marquette University in 1947, after being honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps. He then married Lorraine Grace (nee Mundt) June 5, 1948. George worked as a mechanical engineer for A.O. Smith Company for most of his professional career.

George is survived by his wife Lorraine of 66 years; children Dr. Robert (Kay) Long Lake, MN, Ronald Milwaukee, WI, Carol (Jay) Williams Yankton, SD, Barbara Severance Jackson, WI; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. George is preceded in death by his parents and sister Arlene Liss.

A Funeral Service will be held at The Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI) on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:30AM. Visitation will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home from 10:30AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 West Capitol Drive).
