George B. Powell, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport. He was born on March 18, 1926 in Waverly, Kentucky to the late Norris and Willie (nee Hunter).
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria (nee Burch); children, Pam (Mike) Henschel, Kathy (Jeff) Williamsen, Cheryl (Fred) Berdine, Steve (Peggy) Powell, Randy (Nikki) Powell, and Vicki (Jeff) Jung; grandchildren, Michelle (Andrew) Blaha, Brent (Brenda) Henschel, Scott (Jessie) Williamsen, Todd (Coryn) Williamsen, Lea (Al) Drury, Kevin (Laura) Berdine, Jeremy (Courtney) Powell, Nate (Jessie) Powell, and Brandon (Carrie) Powell; Kyle Jung, Shannon (Matt) Barden; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Cayden, Carter, Gabriella, and Macey Henschel, Alyssa, Adrian, and Morgan Blaha, Sophia, Kiera, and Nora Williamsen, Logan and Carson Drury, Connor, Grace and Jacob Powell, Giselle Jung, Josie, and Molly Barden; siblings, Kenny, Larry, Jerry, Helen Shuck, Wilma Clark, Steve, and Darrell; sisters-in-law, Marlene Steltz and Dolores Burch. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lee and grandson, Chad Berdine.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 5:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend (1420 W Paradise Drive). The visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 4:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), 3333 N Mayfair Rd, Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
