Genevieve Helen Johnson (nee Petersen), age 98, passed away peacefully on Tues. August 21, 2018. Genevieve was born November 24, 1919. She was a strong and independent woman, with endless energy. She had a spunky personality and liked to make people laugh with her perspectives on life. She loved animals, especially birds, and she was rarely seen without a dog at her side. Genevieve lived in Mequon, WI for many years while raising her family and working at Kelch Corp. Years later she moved back to Minnesota where she grew up. The last two years she resided in West Bend at Waterford Assisted Living.

She is survived by her children: John (Mary) Susen, Robert (the late Diana) Susen and Richard (Laurie) Susen, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, step-son Jim Johnson special niece Alberta (John) Lemme, her canine companion DJ, other relatives and friends. Gen was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband John Susen, her second husband Leonard Johnson, sisters: Muriel (Jim) Jubarigan, Joyce Petersen and Ollie Petersen.

A special thank you to the workers and residents at Waterford Assisted Living for making the last two years of Genevieve's life pleasant and enjoyable.

In celebration of her life, Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Sat. Aug. 25 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend). Visitation will be on Saturday, August 25 at the funeral home from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00pm. Interment in Minnesota.
